Special Education ConsultLine

The Special Education ConsultLine is a service provided by the Office for Dispute Resolution.

The ConsultLine advisors answer questions about special education programs and the laws governing these programs for parents of and advocates for children with disabilities, or those who are thought to be disabled. The special education experts at ConsultLine can:

• Speak with parents about the processes involved in having a child evaluated, identified, and provided with special education, accommodations, and related services
• Provide information about the procedural safeguards (parent's rights) available to parents of students and young children with disabilities
• Provide information about, access to, and assistance with, the formal complaint process and other opportunities to address disagreements
• Provide callers with information about appropriate resources that may be relevant to their questions or concerns.
